NOT SO GOOD NEWS
Yesterday THE GOOD BRANDING proudly presented it’s latest project, Cupax, on social media with an authentic picture that represents the brand’s essence and bold vision of how women’s body should be seen and talked about.
Cupax is a menstrual cup brand.
The picture used on the post shows a vulva with the phrase “Zero waste periods”. The idea is showing a vulva that does not have a tampon string coming out of it, or pads. That woman is using a menstrual cup. Menstrual cups are good for the environment, better for women’s health, so it is basically a more natural way of dealing with menstruation. In that way, the picture fits perfectly with the matter once it is just a natural picture of a vulva. It doesn’t get any more natural than that. Cupax does not promote body shame. The picture is bold and straight to the point, also a very strong quality of Cupax.
Unfortunately, the announcement followed by the picture was removed from Instagram. THE GOOD BRANDING and Cupax are deeply disappointed that a social media in modern times still promotes body shame.
Saying and “showing" like it is when it comes to a women’s body should not be a bold move. It should just be normal, natural, simple. It’s contradicting to be called bold when we just show a picture of a vulva wanting people to see naturality and simplicity.
THE GOOD BRANDING and Cupax are proud to have raised the subject once again in this very body conscious society. It was not the intention once both companies see a vulva in a very natural way but we are happy to inspire other to starting thinking about doing the same.
It was never THE GOOD BRANDING and Cupax’s intention to offend anyone with a picture of a vulva once neither brands see a vulva with sexist or sexual connotations. Cupax main concern as a brand is to empower women to create a healthier life for her body and the environment practicing community conscious choices and a zero-waste lifestyle.
